The modern emblem
It was confirmed in December, 15th, 2000 by the decision of XXI city council session of XXIII convocation.
Quaterly and per bend. First Azure; paty cross Or. Second and third Or; eight-beam star Gules. Fourth Gules; letter "К" Or. The shield is enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs.
Letter "К" was on city stamps in XVIII century. Cross means belonging to Poltava cossack regiment. Stars mean constancy.
