Azure; cossack's saber and an arrow Argent with their sharp points up in saltire. Over it are three seven-pointed stars. The emblem is adorned by oak leaves decorative cartouche with Or mauerkrone. On motto ribbon Azure is city name "Dnipropetrovs'k".
Crossed sword and arrow went out from seal of Kodats'ka squadron of Zaporizhzhya Sich. The center of it, Novyi Kodak, now is part of modern Dnipropetrovs'k. With stars they represent Cossack origins of our city. Arrow is the symbol of the movement, sabre is symbol of protection, strength and power. Stars also symbolize splashes of molten metal, is the personification of the main industrial sector of the city, one of the largest industrial centers of Ukraine. Stars are personification of space and reflect the missile industry, which is actively developed in city and made it the capital of Ukraine space. The Azure color symbolizes Dnieper River.
