It was confirmed in May, 8th, 2003 by the decision of region council session.
Azure; golden lions Or with tongues Gules, going to the dexter in pale. Supporters: two lions Or with a rear-facing heads with tongues Gules. The shield is crowned by region crown Or. On ribbon motto Azure is inscription "Zhydachivs'kyi region" Or.
