The soviet emblem

It was confirmed in January, 24th, 1980 by the decision #30 of city council executive committee.

Gules with the argent chief and azure base are or silhouette of a diesel locomotive entegules in gear, passing in an ear. In the basis are or horseshoe and date 1310. The chief is charged by the city name. Diesel locomotive is a symbol of locomotive depot. Gear with ear are symbol of "Kovselmash" factory. The horseshoe is kept from the old arms and symbolizes smiths who founded "Kovle" settlement. The arms is crowned with a gear wall with six beams which leave the geometrical center of a board. It symbolizes city as the important transport unit.
