The modern emblem

It was confirmed in July, 26th, 2001 by the decision of oblast' council session.

In an argent field is a sable daw with the lifted wings in an or crown.
The sable daw with the lifted wings in an argent field is known as a heraldic symbol with XІІІ century since Galyts'ko-Volyns'ke state, with XV century appears on the arms and a flag of the Halyc'ka land of the Rus' province. This structure included territory of modern Ivano-Frankivs'ka oblast'.
