ZVENYHORODKA

The town was foundedin the days of Kyiv Rus'. On one of the towers of a gate was a bell ("dzvin"), bi which people were informed about attacks of enemies. That gave the name to the town. In 1648-1654 it was a squadron town of Korsun' regiment.
