The modern emblem

It was confirmed in July, 11th, 2000 by the decision of XII oblast' council session of III convocation.

Argent; two-heads eagle sable with paws and tongues gules, or eyes and arms (bills and unguises), and crown or on each head, on the chest is escutcheon azure with bordering or, on which is the sign or of the Great princedom Chernihiv founder Mstyslav Volodymyrovych (1024).
The eagle is the arms of Chernihovo-Siverschyna since 1635, that is unified and most ancient land emblem of Left-bank Ukraine.
