STEPANIVKA
The village was founded in XVIII century in marshland. On the origin of the village said the two legends. One - during the attack Tatars man Stephen came here from the south. Together with his family he found island in the marsh where he lived and moved here cattle. The man was a blacksmith, as the island was called "Koval's'kyi island" ("blacksmith island"). According to another legend, a man stole a host geese. He was forced to flee and look for a place where he could live. He settled here.
