The modern emblem
It was confirmed in March, 21st, 2002 by the decision #XXII of oblast' council session.
Per pale by Azure and Gules; sun Or with a human face, accompanied in base by two cones Or in the shape of letter "X". Shield is enframed by decorative cartouche Or; in crest opened book.
Sun is symbol of Podillya, gules color is symbol of Volyn'. "X" is first letter in the name of oblast'.
