It was confirmed in October, 7th, 2004 by the decision of region council session. Per fess by wavy barrulet Argent. First Azure; one-dome temple of times of the Kyiv Rus'. Second Purple; figure of St. princess Ol'ha Or with a nimbus around a head, in the right hand she holds cross, in the left she holds the curtailed roll. The board is framed by the wreath Or from pine, oak, alder and viburnum, and crowned by the viburnum flower Argent. The author is V.Klymyk.
Symbol shows one of the most beautiful temples of the Kyiv Rus' - Boryso-Hlibs'kyi cathedral, a tomb of sacred princes Borys and Hlib who was connected with history of Vyshhorod. Azure symbolizes greatness and beauty. Or means riches, force, fidelity; purple - advantage, power, a noble origin. The wreath tells about the most characteristic vegetation of area, and the viburnum flower symbolizes the Kyivs'ka oblast'. The author is V.Klymyk. Image on site V.Napytkin.
