LYTYHYNE

The history of city began since construction of blast furnaces and specialized iron-works factories near Uspenka village by the Belgian joint-stock company. Eighteen years settlement were without a name. The further growth of settlement depend on construction on its territory Shmidtivka station in 1914. In 1925 factory settlement and station has received a name of oustanding scientist - geologist L.I.Lytyhyn.
