KREMENETS'

The first written mention about Kremenet's refers to 1226 when the troops of Russychis defeated the forces of Hungarian and Polish armies.
The Magdeburg Right was given in 1431.
In 1819 in Kremenets' there was founded an institution equated with Vilens'kyi university. It had a large library - more than 50000 volumes including 1500 incunabula (books printed before 1500). On the basis of the library in 1834 there was founded Kyiv University.
