It was confirmed in November, 17th, 1844. Azure; two branches in cross, one of which is laurel and the other - vine. The vine with bunches denoted viticulture developing on the south coast of the Crimea. The laurel branch denoted the only place in Russia where bay-trees could grow outdoors. The laurel branch reminded also about the victory at the village of Shumi near Alushta (Yalta ditrict) in 1774 by general Michael Golenishchev-Kutuzov. The victory was over the Turkish landing force. There the never-to-be-forgotten general got his famous in the history of medicine wound in the eye. Image on site V.Napytkin. П.П.фон-Винклер.
