It was confirmed in October, 27th, 2009 by the decision of region council session. Arched fess argent has two embroidery azure in pale on the edges. Gules; from upper field to fess comes loaf of bread or, in the dexter and sinister chief are lilies or. Vert; formy cross argent. The shield is framed by cartouche or and crowned by territorial crown.
Fess means ukrainian towel and Horyn' river, crossing the region. Bread on the towel means kindness and generosity of the residents, represents agriculture, prosperity and wealth. Lilies indicate the region center (they are elements of the Hoshcha coat of arms). Cross means Volyn'. Vert represents the rich natural resources, prosperity and progress. Image on site V.Napytkin.
