It was founded in September 1900 in connection with the construction of the railway Kyiv-Kovel'. City was named in honor of the chief of the South-Western Railways - Klavdiy Nemishaev, who assisted for construction of houses for railway workers on the 39th mile of railroad. In 1917-1928 was named Tshevtshenkove.
