The modern emblem
It was confirmed in August, 14th, 2008 by the decision #390 of XXIV city council session of V convocation.
Rectangular board with the rounded off lower corners and an edge, with a parity of width to height 8:9. Vert; fortress Argent with the closed gates. In the chief Gules is key Or a bit to the dexter. The shield is enframed by cartouche and crowned by city crown Argent. On the motto strip Gules is inscription "Armyans'k" Argent.
The arms is known since November, 17th 1844. It belonged to the Perekop city which inhabitants in the end of a XIX-th century have left the decay city and based new - the Virmens'kyi Bazar (Armenian Market, later - Armyans'k).
The symbol reflects a key geographical position of city at the Rekops isthmus. The fortress is blocking a way to Crimea and is the "key" of peninsula.
