RUZHYN
The history of city occurrence and its name are connected with the Ukrainian princely family Ruzhyns'kyi's, considered as descendants of great Lithuanian prince Gedimin. During time of a diet in Warsaw in April, 13th 1590, king Sigizmund ІІІ at the desire of prince Kyryk Ostafijovych Ruzhyns'ky has allowed to base a new city on the river Bernava and to use the Magdebourg right.
