The modern emblem
It was confirmed in December, 15th, 2000 by the decision of XXI city council session of XXIII convocation. Quaterly and per bend. Azure, or paty cross; or, gules eight-beam star; or, gules eight-beam star; gules, or letter "К". The shield enframed by or cartouche and crowned by argent urban crown with three prongs. The author is A.Grechylo.
Letter "К" was on city stamps in XVIII century. Cross means belonging to Poltava cossack regiment. Stars mean constancy.
