In 1578 it was the well-arranged city with wide streets, stone houses decorated by a groove. The city had some arms. The arms, given to the city by Ponyatovs'kyi's, has description: "the fortress with three towers and the image of the gules bull on an argent background which head is turned to the right" (the arms "Celek").
