SKALA-PODIL'S'KA

The city near Zbruch river was mentioned in 1210. On a steep rock which protected settlement from a southeast, in 60-70th of XIV century was built fortress. In 1443 king Vladyslav granted the Magdeburg Right to the Skala.
In August, 7th, 1498, king Yan Olbryht has released city dwellers for 15 years from all taxes, and in 1510 - for 8 years.
In 1515 Skala mentioned as city last time.
The arms of city was not kept. However in Warsaw in one of archives I.Svarnyk revealed two prints of a stamp 1531 and 1535 years. On it is the board with city gate and three towers completed by prongs. This arms finds acknowledgement in F.Kovalyshyna's register: "on a dark blue board is white wall with a gate, above them are three towers completed by prongs".
