KOSHYTSI-SVITLYNS'KI
Koshytsi is nobiliary family from Bila Tserkva. The most known member of family, Olexander Koshyts', is the world famous Ukrainian composer, the conductor, specialist in folklore and the teacher. He was born on Kyiv region (in Romashky village). In 1901 he has finished the Kyiv relogion academy, in 1910 - M.Lysenko's Musical-drama school in which he taugt since 1904. Since 1909 he was head of Kyiv University chorus, since 1913 he was the teacher of the Kyiv conservatory, in 1912-1916 - the conductor of M.Sadovs'kyi chorus, in 1916 - 1917 he was the chorus master and the conductor of the Kyiv Russian opera. In 1919 he was one of the founders and the head of the Ukrainian republican chapel from which he has gone abroad in the same year.
Descendants of family whom it are necessary to live in the USSR, have tested heavy prosecutions and reprisals. They have been compelled to change a surname.
