The soviet emblem
It was confirmed in October, 5th, 1967 by the decision #488 of city council executive committee.
Board per pale as 2:1 by Gules and Azure. In the circle formed by metal Or, flowing from the ladle Argent, and half gear Sable, is contour Or of Dnipro hydroelectric power station. On the dexter part of a shield is city name Or in pale. On the chief Argent are the cossack sabre, a bandura and horse-tail, that mean famous pages of the Zaporizhzhya cossacks.
