It was confirmed in April, 24th, 2001 by the decision of region council session. Per fess. Vert; head of a deer argent. Or; are two sickles azure with handles gules from top to bottom, inverted by edges one to another. The board is crowned by the crown, merlons of it are formed by viburnum berries and leaves, and decorated with a wheaten ear, sunflowers, and oak leaves which are twisted with a dark blue tape with the or motto "TOGETHER TO GENERAL WELFARE".
The board per fess on two parts because the territory of region was crossed by a line of border. The forest-steppe here borders with steppe, there were borders of the Kyivs'ka Rus' and the Wild Field, Poland and Crimean khanat, Poland and Russia. The area was joined from territories of two regions - Olexandivs'kyi and Elysavethradkivs'kyi. Sickles are symbol of agriculture, they were on the arms of the Olexandria district. The argent head of a deer means the name of region which occurs from the name of an administrative centre Olexandrivka, which have a figure of a deer in the arms.
