It was confirmed in April, 13th, 2000 by the decision of city council session. The rectangular dark blue panel with sides ratio 2:3 is divided on two unequal parts by a horizontal white strip. In the centre of the top part is located the image of the initial letter of the city name. On a background of a yellow circle is letter "K", looking like swallow, and also reminds a Sign of Volodymyr Great State. Swollow is symbol of heat and well-being, courage and endurance. The yellow circle means basis of city existence, source of material and spiritual values. The white strip is symbol of Dnipro, on which banks city stands. Image on site V.Napytkin.
