It was confirmed in July, 9th, 2003 by the decision #IV/10-333 of city council session.
Azure; rising sun with rays Or without face. Over all two naissant waste heaps Sable, the right of which is above and ahead. In dexter two kopers Sable. The shield is framed by wreath from oak leaves and ears, intertwined by ribbon Or with inscription "Shakhtars'k" and crowned by crown Argent.
