ORZHIV

It is known since XVI century. According to popular legend, the earlier settlement consisted of three tracts: Orzhiv, Mshakiv, Oak Grove. The name of the first settlement comes from the words "woe to live" ("gore zhyty"). The settlement was on the way in which Tatar raided to Volyn' and Lithuania, and it was "woe to live" in such region.
